| April 17th, 2010Sometimes I want to rip the world apart. I stop and think, "It is not for me to decide nor to act on". It belongs to time and to chaos. The Golden apple predates thee Golden Rule. Through religion we try so hard to make sense - what sense has it made? Protagonist Gods throughout time that supersede the human experience at odds with antagonistic Devils that tend to mirror our own human cardinal nature. Is the message to hate ourselves? Why would we model the devil, structured evil, and all things abominable after ourselves and give that whom which which we worship characteristics unattainable by humanity? This question is easily dismissed by the modern religious who use the vehicle of a "messiah" to act as an intermediary between that which is possible and that which is impossible. ie; the human to transcendental experience.
Maybe this is symbolic of humanity's constant drive to outdo itself. Why not shoot for the stars at least you'd hit the moon right? Why not make the gods greater and not equal to the human experience. It gives us something to work for, something to inspire us, something to structure our lives. And there in lays the illusion. The ultimate illusion is structure. The Golden apple predates the Golden Rule. From that which is structured only one outcome can and will occur; the disillusion of the structured occurrence. The ebb and flow of order to disorder, structure to unstructured is constant and timeless. Therefore the only true constant is disorder. In that way time and space appear structured or at least predictable much in the same way you can always count on a liar to tell you a lie, and you can always count on chaos to be chaotic.
Perhaps religion is the greatest instrument of chaos the world has ever known, waiting patiently to rip the world apart.
